JUSTUS MAGAZINE

Yesterday I received a surprising and happy phone call - a call from  Estelle from Justus Magazine, Sydney's new quarterly journal showcasing the design and print industry, to invite me to join their creative family in which you subscribe, have the opportunity to submit work to the magazine and are invited to their VIP events.

Design studios, freelancers, students and creative suppliers around the country are invited, to form a community between eachother to keep the design industry alive. Their editions are clad with super stocks and embellishments, making it a creative's dream to publish in. I highly recommend to check these super people out, as they are giving people like myself trying to break into the industry a reputable opportunity to create contacts and opportunities to display your work, and are particularly looking to give people in areas such as small ol' Adelaide a chance to shine, as our wonderful creative scene, as vibrant and happening as it is, may be not as noticed as the bigger cities scenes.

Do check these clever folks' website if you are interested in joining the fam, and also check this great article about them on Design Federation !

'Hot Out The Oven' - Fringe 2011 exhibition

Slightly delayed Fringe exhibition post:

Ryan Baranikow, Leigh Harder, late addition Gemma Buratto and I are grateful to be exhibiting at two venues throughout the Fringe 2011 (which is somehow already half gone.. get in quick)! We are up and running at the Metro Hotel and the Dog and Duck, come have a look and maybe even purchase a piece!

I have typography pieces on display (see above) in cute vintage frames, as well as two pieces in each exhibition from my previous SALA exhibition at Higher Ground.

New works above are at these specific venues (titles in brackets are their song titles):

I Ain't Got No Butter (Desperate)
Yeah He Was Truly Hip (Skip Tracer)
If You're Screwed Up Well You Better Screw It Tight (Super-Sonic)
Shine Like Stars (Shine Like Stars)
-- The Metro

One For The So Named Dreamers (Shuffle Your Feet)
Ice Cream Snow (Rhinoceros)
I Wrote A Poem On A Dog Biscuit (Fourth Of July)
Silver Rings And Magic Things Your Children Should Not Know (Malela)
-- D&D

Also see second image for the great little article on us in The Adelaide Fix about our Metro exhibition, thanks to Helen Corkran.

Come and support some freshly baked creative talent. It sure is tasty.

Miraculous website update

So after an entire year of struggling to make a website, which was put up online half finished about 6 months ago, I successfully refurbished in two days. Proud? More like a miracle.

And, it works seamlessly on both mac and pc (after I fixed a few flaws). It is now up to date, and admittedly a lot less gaudy looking. However I cannot find for the life of me where you can edit the leading/kerning. Please excuse unedited Helvetica font.

Please go have a peek, http://www.chloemcgregor.com

*EDIT* Jumped the gun on "seamless", via iPhone it is a little temperamental.

On Dit

Illustrations done in the past couple months for University of Adelaide's student rag On Dit. One more to come but hasn't been reproducing well under the scanner, will wait for the clouds to disappear to photograph instead! Going by a rather obvious pattern here on my blog, it appears I exercise my psychedelic typography just a little too much.....
